Before St. Patrick's Day, we used our knowledge of the design process and our imaginations to create leprechaun traps! The kids were given spaghetti noodles, marshmallows, and free reign to think of a design that could stand up and hopefully trap a leprechaun! Our designs were great but the leprechaun was too tricky. He did leave some gold coins, though!
Crestwood Elementary, in Lindbergh, has created the #CrestFit Whip Workout Challenge and we were happy to try it as a brain break today! Here is the link if you would like to take on the challenge at home https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ruDMwaB-aQ ! What a great way to get moving and have some fun!
On Friday, our first graders faced the challenge of designing a boat meant to hold as many pennies as possible only using a small piece of foil and straws. First, they created a secret boat and tested it in groups. For round 2, they were able to bounce ideas off each other and discuss how they could make a more efficient boat this time. It was so much fun!
