You may have heard about the special thing that has been going on in our classroom this week. On my desk I have a special jar that I fill up with Warm Fuzzies whenever our class is making great choices because when we work together our hearts feel warm and fuzzy. But last night something amazing happened... They woke up! At first the Fuzzies were shy, but this morning we saw that they have opened their eyes! They LOVE our first graders and wanted to be able to watch them as they learn and have fun! They live in my desk drawer but ask to come into the jar whenever we are hard at work, being good listeners, and earn compliments from other teachers! When our jar is full, we get to choose a class reward and the Fuzzies take a little vacation but they do not stay away for long! They can't get enough of Room 23.
Today we buddy read with our favorite books! We are gearing up for our reading stations this year. Off to a great start! I can't believe the first few days are already over! We had a lot of fun playing get-to-know-you games and activities, learning about the school, and making new friends with our classmates! I hope you all have a great weekend! Remember to bring a favorite book to school on Monday!
Here we are rocking our green assembly shirts with smiles and silly faces! I am so happy I was able to meet everyone tonight at the ice cream social! I hope you and your families had as much fun as I did and that it alleviated some of the first day jitters! I can tell we have a wonderful group of friends in our class and I can't wait for the year to officially begin on Thursday!
Take a look at all of our supplies! We are ready to go! |
